Nowadays, using AI is as common as doing household chores. AI is mostly a system that collects information from all different resources (can be defined as “expert knowledge”). So, we can conclude that, as it’s called “artificial intelligence”, its name has already described itself – as providing a sum of knowledge by gathering it from common & effective resources (various in amount) to prove itself as a technically intelligent being. Through portals, webs, and queries, it reaches its decision by conjugating all of it & applying the final result as a method of inspection & makes it done with its designed form, which can be called an algorithm.
What Makes AI Powerful
AI itself is not who or what is thinking. We, humans, are the ones who have shared our knowledge from different criteria of thinking. Whereas AI, through its systematic process, has been grabbing it all to work & access the outcome.
Now the Real Question is What Makes AI Surpass the Ability of a Human Being
The answer couldn’t be more obvious. A man can’t remember all knowledge, & when a man needs an answer to his question, he has to go to different people with different expertise. On the other hand, AI is made by gathering all that different knowledge. By using it, a man can easily get a proper answer without going through any hassle & get a more defined solution at the right time.
But is AI a Threat to Our Race’s Vulnerability
“With artificial intelligence, we are summoning the demon.” – Elon Musk (Source: CBS News; October, 2014)
AI, more profoundly, is compared with a disruptive force. Casually speaking, if we rely too much on it. It will be confined as a necessary evil. Then we won’t be able to carry on our daily activities without it. It can bring things faster, but it can bring things to us with error, & if we lose our sense to identify the error, then yes! It is a threat to our race.
Is AI Taking Over Our Difficulties or Us
Before coming to a conclusion, there’s a question that is floating in everyone’s mind.
“Why has AI been Created”
From Alan Turing to Geoffrey Hinton, those who are related to making AI have always given us one question to ponder. Can machines think?
Even the solution is simple: through deep learning breakthroughs with an automated algorithm to follow with proper calculative instructions.
Even if it’s thinking, it’s just all work of proper alignment of data. To make it work, there must be a commander. And who are those Commanders? It’s definitely us. As human beings, we have some restrictions; we have a term to save ourselves by avoiding dangerous tasks. To make it easy for us, there comes the intelligence that’s been artificially condensed with a proper method of instructions (AI). We can get hurt, but we can command a thing through which we can make difficult work easy.
Sci-fi or Reality
From movies or from imagination, it can come to mind – “Will AI take over Earth one day?”
Even the answer relies on us. How we want to use AI is to make it a source of knowledge, a method of making things easy for us or a companion on whom we rely.
AI, ruling the world, is as possible as much as we need to use it for making things go our way. If we make it do dangerous work while we command it, then the far-shivering imagination is just sci-fi; otherwise, we can’t say it can become the vice versa.
Comparisons to the Conclusion
Now, after checking the given information, there’s a need to predict,
- Should we fear AI, or should we mobilize it?
- Is AI taking over, or do we just need to utilize it?
- What does the future hold?
If the grip has been loose, then it’s difficult to grab again. As the most intelligent being on the earth. We must control AI as a tool to serve, as a tool to command, and as a tool to make difficult work easy, which saves time and makes labor work a flick of a finger. While we must not let it work as our sense, our thinking ability.
AI is a tool to serve, a method of sharing knowledge through our expertise in different fields as an intelligent race. Making things easy and not relying on it too much is the capacity we must ensure. Not letting it be the one to choose.
The Future Holds what we as a Human Race are going to get out of it. Either Benefits or Frustration?
Depends on our own perspectives. And our perspective should be, “Powered by Skill, Not Controlled by AI.”
